Glass has always been a part of life in the Czech Republic. In the second half of the nineteenth century, the glassworks in Podbrady were established with the goal of perpetuating the renowned Czech glassmaking legacy. The glassworks were brilliantly upgraded after WWII, and separate Podbrady glassworks were created in 1950. The 18 percent lead crystal manufacture was progressively transformed to a more noble 24 percent. The glassworks changed hands multiple times over the next 60 years, and the current modern age began in 2008 with the formation of the joint-stock company Crystal BOHEMIA. The company in Podbrady expanded to incorporate glassworks in Svtlá nad Sázavou in February 2020, and the two companies now go by the name Crystal BOHEMIA. We have made major investments in modern technologies in recent years to enable efficient production while also ensuring the consistent and high quality of our products. Bohemia is now one of the world's major producers of lead and lead-free crystal, and the Czech Republic's largest producer. The company has a long and illustrious history, which is reflected in both a new visual style and logo based on the BOHEMIA trademark, as well as traditional trademarks.
