When the assets (of which Ridgway was one) of Cauldon Potteries Ltd. were sold in 1932, the Globe Pottery Company purchased the bigger Ridgway (Bedford Works) Ltd. (after Cauldon Potteries went into receivership). From 1934, the Globe Pottery Company operated out of Ridgways' Bedford Works (who also continued to operate under its own name). The Globe Pottery Co.'s mark was amended to add 'SHELTON' as a place name instead of 'COBRIDGE' as of this date. Harry Wood was the Globe Pottery Company's beneficial proprietor at the time (the principle of Wood & Sons Ltd). Wood & Sons Ltd was the parent company of both Globe Pottery and Ridgways. Lawleys Ltd acquired a controlling interest in both the Globe Pottery Company and Ridgways in the 1940s, and by 1948, both companies were wholly owned subsidiaries of Lawleys. The Globe Pottery was listed as "Ash Hall" in appendix 4 of the book "British Potters and Potters Today" (1956). 2-Piece Vintage Set comes decorated with Hand-Painted Landscapes, with Original Makers Decals and in Very Good Condition.
