The Kodak EasyShare ZD710 combines a seven megapixel CCD imager with an extremely helpful 38 - 380mm equivalent focal range Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 10x optical zoom lens. Nevertheless, there is no optical or mechanical image stabilisation, a necessary feature to utilise a long lens in low light or without a tripod. The ZD710 instead provides digital picture stabilisation, which probably makes advantage of higher ISOs to stop blur brought on by camera shake. The Kodak ZD710 sports a higher quality 201K pixel electronic viewfinder in addition to a larger 2.0" 150K pixel LCD display for framing photos.
